Celebrate a move to a new home. The cover features an original painting by Twila Farmer of a pair of Purple Martins perching beside a cottage-style birdhouse, a fitting “new nest” for the occasion.
Inside:
“Congratulations on your new nest!”
Back:
“Twila’s dad loved Purple Martins, especially their unmistakable songs, and diligently cared for the martin house he kept for them. These glossy purple-blue birds rely almost entirely on people for nesting sites, usually martin houses or hollow gourds. Wonderfully vocal and social, they fill the air with chirps, chatters and trills as they swoop overhead. Here in Missouri, hearing their familiar chatter again is one of the surest signs that spring has arrived.”
